Mithraculus sculptus.  Suggested 1 crab for every Foot length of your aquarium with HEAVY rock work ie.3+lbs per gallon,  1 for every 2 feet of aquarium for light or medium rock work > 3lbs per gallon.
 
OCCASSIONALLY THESE ANIMALS MAY ARRIVE WITH MISSING LEGS.  WE DO NOT SHIP CRABS IF THEY ARE MISSING MORE THAN 2 LEGS.  ALTHOUGH, THIS IS A RARE OCCURANCE, BE IT KNOWN THE LEGS WILL GROW BACK.  TIGER LILY'S INSPECTS ALL LIVE STOCK PRIOR TO SHIPPING.

    SPECIAL NOTE: Mithraculus sculptus are easy to keep, they spend most of their time forage and scrapping rocks looking for algae as well as left of food debris.  They have ~4 year life expectancy.


    Natural Ecology: Mithraculus sculptus inhabit rocky reef and intertidal zones. They often are found living in and near the base of rock formations, and within crevices looking for food.

    ORIGIN: Wide Spread ours NORMALLY are improrted from the Caribbean.

     

    Feeding: Algae, (hair algae when it is NOT EXTREMELY OVERGROWN) we have found they prefer the new growth.  Bubble algae is also occasionly consumed but should NOT be expected to clear out a severe case.  The will also eat left over foods as well.

    Aggression: NOT Aggresive; This species is docile, it will attack Mithraculus sculptus when minimal forage space is available in the aquairum.
